“My best friend is with a guy I like”

My roommate and I are both 22 year old women. We’ve both had a crush on the same guy (a friend from an event we do) for a while. She’s hot, I’m the DUFF. A long time ago, when we both admitted we liked him, she made us make a pact that we would be happy for the other one if the relationship happened for them.

I knew in that moment that I didn’t stand a chance, but I still held on to stupid hope. She decided to make a move on him at a party and, surprise surprise, turns out he likes her back. I want to be supportive of my best friend being happy, but it’s really difficult to hear them making out or wonder when the right time for me to leave the room is if we’re all hanging out at our house. “My husband doesn’t want to have sex with me”

My husband of two years doesn’t want to have sex with me. I’m a fairly attractive individual, and my husband has NO interest in sex at all. He watches porn all the time, but since he has touched me, it’s been around six months.

And before that, it was another four. We have had sex three times in the span of a year. He says it’s because he has gained weight (70 pounds) and he is ashamed of himself. His attitude towards me is still the same. He still jokes with me, and he’s still my best friend. I just don’t understand what I’m doing wrong. I’ve tried coming onto him, wearing lingerie, buying toys, asking him if he wants to invite anyone else in… but nothing works. He doesn’t want anything to do with it. He is only 30, and should still have a healthy sex drive. Please help.

“My male best friend has a girlfriend”

I have a male best friend. He’s always been in love with me but I was in a relationship and that created some distance . I broke off my relationship due to some issues and we became quite close again.

But then I thought he was over me but suddenly he’s seeing this girl and they are dating. We both lost our virginity to each other and he keeps saying he wishes he could be with me. I can’t stand him dating her and I think I should break things off with him. We still have sex often, even though he now has a girlfriend. I’m just confused on what to do.

“Now that she has a boyfriend, she has no time for a best friend”

My best friend and I are extremely close. She has stuck by me through my hardest times. I have a significant other, and she is fully aware of that. However, I never fail to make time for both of them individually, because they are so every close to me.

Recently, she acquired her first boyfriend. Of course, I am happy for her. I’m so happy that she’s happy. But now, she spends all of her time with him and almost seems to be annoyed by me. Whenever I try to squeeze in time with her, she tells me that I’m acting like her mother and to let her just be with him. I respected their space for a long time, but it’s really starting to hurt not having my best friend around anymore. I love my significant other, of course, but we all need a female best friend. What should I do?

“I don’t see us getting together because of our families”

My best guy friend told me that he likes me like a lot, and I am confused. We have been friends for more than a year. I am single and I don t want to be in relationship, and I never had one before.

I have promised my mom to not have one until I graduate (we are both 19). I don’t think I am mature enough for a relationship, but deep down, I feel I also like him, as most of the time I can’t stop thinking about him.

We are really close, but I ended up telling him that I don t want to be in a relationship with anyone, and the friendship we have is more important than that. This was three months ago. We talk on and off now, because he always ends up telling me that he wants me and can’t get me out of his head, and my other girl best friend (who is also friends with him) keeps telling me how much he wants me and is really heartbroken. “My best friend hates the guy I’m secretly seeing”

So there’s this guy. Let’s call him A. He has been in love with me for 3 years now. He used to just be that annoying boy who has a crush on you and is a bit clingy, but we’ve always been quite close friends. In the past year we’ve grown way closer, and I really really think I like him and he still loves me. We call each other for hours every night and spend every spare few hours we can together.

Last week, I was at his house and we gave each other head …

Anyway, A is a very complex person. Towards me, I really see his caring side, and he has the hugest heart and is an amazing person. Although, I’m the only one who sees all of that. Towards everyone else, he’s just a bit annoying and immature. I mean, I understand that because before we got close, he seemed annoying and immature to me as well. Continue reading

“He treats me like a best mate”

I’m in love, but not feeling loved. I’m seriously and deeply in love with my high school sweetheart’ of 5 years, both of us having no other relationships beforehand. Before we were in a relationship, we were good friends for 6 years. We went to college together, went to festivals, lived together in a shitty flat for 2 years, and we often talk about our futures together.

He’s smart, handsome, kind, lovable, makes me laugh so much, and honestly a really good guy. There’s just one thing missing from an otherwise beautiful relationship … He’s a bit of a crappy boyfriend. Continue reading

“My wife’s friends are tearing apart our marriage”

My wife has a best friend who gave her advice during a difficult time in our marriage. I did all I could to patch things up and become the man my wife wants me to be, but she continued to listen to the friend. She dogged me out, asking why I was calling her on Thanksgiving while deployed.

Upon returning, I had a suspicion that something was going on, so I took her phone and found text messages between my wife and her friend, dogging me out. I came home one day and found prepaid cards lying around, and she said she was throwing them away from work, but I later found a phone card in a drawer.

Later, I caught my wife lying three times about having a prepaid phone which I had discovered. I told her to cut off the relationship with the friend, because it’s destroying our marriage and because she consistency lies to me. I am honest, open, and trying to love my wife through arguments and disagreements we have. I see my mistakes of the past (no infidelity) and try to work out things. Continue reading

“My husband has an obsessed fanboy”

When I met my now-husband two years ago, he had a friend whom he had met while dating his ex (her cousin). Sweet guy. Young and naive. They race cars and karts, and they enjoy working on them together.

Anyway, fast-forward to my wedding and our new marriage. We have a bbq every week, and this guy comes along and brings nothing. No drinks or meat. When I spoke to my husband, he said no, that John helps him a lot when it comes to racing and building, so he doesn’t mind.

I mind. I think this boy is a complete sponge.

Then to compound on that, I have not had one week without this guy coming over a minimum of twice a week. Sometimes it goes up to 4-5 times!

I’ve complained to my husband, and he has just told John that we are a new marriage and he must give us space, not that he must start contributing and stop sponging. Continue reading

“My friend gave me mixed messages, then said I broke the girl code”

Here’s some backstory so you can better understand my situation:
I used to be friends with a girl, we’ll call her D. So D was dating this boy, we’ll call him M. D wasn’t a very good friend, she was super dramatic, problematic, and argumentative and she also lies ALL THE TIME. So D and I met in 8th grade. In 11th grade, D and M started dating. They both went to the same private school but I went to the public school. Whenever I was around both of them she would start problems and run out of the room crying and all this other dramatic BS. M and I became friends, and D didn’t mind that at all really. Eventually they broke up, but I stayed friends with both of them. D encouraged me to date M, and said things like, “you two would be so cute together,” “can I be a bridesmaid in the wedding?” “when are you gonna date already?” etc. Continue reading
