“I think I’m in love with my best friend”

I’m a 15 y/o girl and I’ve liked my best friend, a 13 y/o girl, ever since I met her. I think I might be in love with her? I met her when I was 7, she was 5. I don’t think I realized how I felt about her until I was about 12. At first I thought I just liked her as a close friend or little sister. But I think I love her.

I haven’t confessed to her, but I have told her that I’m bisexual, although I’ve never had any romantic feelings towards anyone but her. When I was 12 and she was 10 we had a sleepover at her house, that’s when I realized how I feel. I find myself staring at her a lot. I also tend to go on her social media profiles quite a few times a day. I get jealous whenever I see anyone do or say anything to her that I feel could be flirtatious. Continue reading

“Shall I just ask her out?”

I’m a senior in high school and I really like this sophomore girl. I met her last year. We had one class together, and I was the only older guy in the class. I only had one friend in the class so I wasn’t too social, and she started talking to me around the last few months of the year. I saw her in free sometimes, and she would always say hi, compliment my shirt, flirt a little. I liked another girl, a friend of hers, at that point, so I didn’t exactly realize she might be into me. We’re both pretty popular in our grades and both pretty good looking.

Now I asked the other girl out a couple months before school ended and she rejected me. We hadn’t even really talked before, so not a smart move on my part, and I’m over it. Don’t know if the girl I like now knows about that, but she seemed to show signs both before and after that all happened. She said we were practically dating (jokingly) once, stole my phone and took pics on it, insisted on taking pictures with me, even said she would have went to prom with me.

She was sending me these signs, but I am clueless when it comes to girls, so I didn’t realize until  summer started. I didn’t see her over the summer. Our only interaction was liking each other’s Insta photos and stuff.

Now, a week or so into school and she continues to show she might like me. I no longer have a class with her, so I only see her after school. She always starts the conversation, walks up to me, says hi. She has never been very shy and doesn’t hesitate to talk to me in front of her (or my) friends, She has wished me good luck in sports games multiple times and asked how my day was going, how was my summer, etc. Now that I really like her, too, I have been trying to show her that by doing some of the same. We can never talk for too long, but we say hi (she usually says hi first), talk a little, ask simple questions and stuff. Lately I’ve seen her flip her hair around or glance my way as I’m walking her way.

I’m only afraid that she thinks I still like someone else or I’m reading the signs wrong. I really do think she likes me, but I’m not quite sure how to let her know I feel the same way. We have a mutual friend, a girl in my grade, who I think may be a help to find out if she likes me back. So should I have her investigate? And of course I can always just go and ask her. Either way, how should I go about showing her that l like her back? Do you really think she is interested in me and would say yes if I asked her out?

“My boyfriend encourages me to flirt with my teacher”

I have been dating my boyfriend for nine months now, and I love him to death, but sometimes I don’t get the emotional love and attention I would like from him. I have been taking a class at our university this summer, and my lab GTA has been increasingly flirting with me over the course of the class.

My boyfriend encouraged me to flirt back and even offered up a “hall pass” to help me pass the class (I thought he was joking – he’s not). I feel incredibly uncomfortable that he would suggest that, because I would never cheat in class (let alone get involved with a teacher) or on my boyfriend.

My problem is that I don’t know what to think about how my boyfriend is acting towards the situation. My other problem is that I genuinely like my GTA as a person, and I would really like to be friends with him. He is obviously flirting with me, and I don’t know how to pursue a friendly relationship without him thinking I was leading him on or using him for a good grade.

“I found out my boyfriend is on Tinder”

I have been dating my boyfriend for year now. About 5 months ago, my boyfriend left for a week to Canada to play in a hockey tournament. When he came back, I found a screenshot of a girl from Snapchat on his camera roll, which led to me also finding his Tinder account. He was using his Tinder account when he was out in Canada.

His team had won the tournament, and his last night they went out. The screenshot of the girl was some Canadian girl from Tinder, and from the glimpse of the text said “I had a really fun night,” but I didn’t have the gut to read their text messages (the girls he message on Tinder were just flirting — he only gave his number out to this Canadian girl). “I have two boyfriends and neither of them know about each other”

I’m reaching out here because I’m stuck in a big problem and I don’t know what to do anymore. I was with a boy for 3 and a half years, he is one year younger so he is in his last year of High school. He is disloyal to me and I know because I have friends who are still in high school, and tell me they either saw him being flirty, or getting to touchy with a bunch of different girls.

But it’s not just that, I feel it in my heart and when he answers my questions, I can tell his answers are not honest and genuine. However, I have no proof he is cheating. So I made the stupid decision to start cheating. I am now talking to this other guy, but as I’m getting to know him, he seems to come with more problems. He is a convicted felon which I was unaware of. Half of the town girls say he’s cool and funny and hot and other times, he’s crazy and rude and mean. Continue reading

“My boyfriend ‘half’ cheated on me”

My boyfriend “half” cheated on me, meaning I caught him flirting, texting, and trying to meet up with this girl. Our relationship was awesome at the time, even he admits it, so I have no clue why he’d act like that. She sent him “racey” pictures, so it’s not like they were meeting up to discuss world views.

Years later, I notice they’re still friends on Facebook!? He probably gets on Facebook once every 3 months, so it’s unlikely they’re actively chatting, but when your girlfriend’s upset about you attempting to cheat, wouldn’t that be a smart step to take, unfriend her? This is a deal breaker for me, but I’m unsure if I’m out of line, since he’s not an avid Facebook user.
Thanks!

“How do I ask her out?”

I went to high school 2 years ago with a girl whom I never talked to until now, as I am shy about meeting people. She recently moved back in town after a pretty bad breakup, though I don’t know the details. I’ve gotten out of a relationship with someone who cheated on me twice in the last 9 months, as well.

I think she’s really beautiful and deserves someone who is loyal and treats her with love and respect, but I don’t know if I should say anything to her about how I feel, as I’ve sorta only texted her for 2 weeks. I asked her out for coffee, but I haven’t gotten a reply. I’m an awkward texter, so I’d rather talk in person where my charm is.

“I’ve been dreaming about my coworker who reminds me of my boyfriend”

I’ve been in a relationship for almost 3 years with a good guy. He’s honestly a good person. We’ve been together since I was 20 and he had just turned 30. The first four months of our relationship were amazing. Total honeymoon phase. But after we started living together, he started to show his true emotional weaknesses. He would play video games for hours, sometime bordering on days. He would come home from work and ignore me until bedtime, where he would toss and turn until morning, only to do it all over again.

We never did anything fun or went anywhere together. I was starting to feel incredibly trapped and unappreciated. We fought all the time, with me always conceding my side to calm him down or make him happy. He finally got some help with his depression and things got better.

We still fight, and nothing I do seems to be good enough for him. I’m too lazy, I’m not clean enough, I forget to do things, I’ve gained a bit of weight. All these things make me feel like I’m not good enough for anyone. I always feel like the one who is more caring and affectionate. We didn’t have sex for months at a time. And we when we did, it was lacklustre and sad. When I lay it all out like this it seems horrible. Continue reading

“My girlfriend keeps in contact with her old flings”

My girlfriend of two months has her ex-flings (not ex-boyfriends) in her phone contacts and in her social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat), including one she was flirting and talking with during OUR talking stage. She claims to not have entertained anyone else after we became “official.” Either way, this irks me, and I don’t know whether or not I’m being insecure or if I should say something because she should cut them all off. I should mention that I was hurt in my past by a cheating ex, and I have major trust issues that I am working on. What should I do?

“My female friend can’t take the hint that I’m not into women”

My platonic female friend (I am also female) has been flirting with me almost non-stop. We’ve been friends for a very long time, and I’ve made it clear that I’m only interested in men. I admit that I’m disgusted to think of her romantically, but she really can’t take the hints that I’m giving her. This isn’t something I’d like to stop our friendship over, but how would you suggest that I get her to stop?
