“My wife caught me snooping through her phone, but I have a legitimate reason to do so”

I need some advice. The last time my wife changed the password on her phone, I found out she was talking to one of her exes, and she tried hooking up with him. It was quickly foiled when I confronted her about it, and the issue was resolved. She hasn’t spoken to him since. HOWEVER, I recently noticed she changed her password again.

I got caught trying to snoop, and she FLIPPED OUT. She threatened to divorce me and kick me out of the house. My question is, was I justified in thinking something wasn’t right and checking up on her?

“He’s my best friend, but I might like him more than that?”

So, I am feeling some conflicting feelings toward somebody in my life right now, and I would like to get input from anyone who can relate or speculate. I just met this guy about four months ago at school. We are classmates in an intensive two-year program. We see each other every day and have become really good friends. I don’t think I’ve ever become such good friends with someone so quickly, especially not a guy (btw, I’m a girl lol).

I’ve been in three serious relationships in my life, but I’ve never actually had a close platonic guy friend. But now, with this person, I recently realized I might actually like him as more than a friend.

But I’m not sure!

“I’ve fallen in love with a guy I’ve never met, who lives in another country”

I met a guy four days ago online, and we have been talking ever since. He was looking for a relationship, but I wasn’t, so I told him we could be just friends. He is nice to me, and he is a gentleman as well. He will be relocating to my country in September, and I’m the only person he knows here.

All of a sudden, I found myself liking him, and getting upset when he doesn’t text me. It’s been only four days, and I don’t know what’s happening.

“My dad and his girlfriend have become overbearing parents”

Okay, so I live at home with my dad. He hates me, doesn’t trust me, calls me names on a daily basis, etc. He has a girlfriend who is very strict with her kids as well, and she gives my dad advice on “how to fix me.”

She taught him how to put parental restrictions on my phone (which means I can’t FaceTime, delete apps, download apps, and I have no camera or safari). The current app that I have on my phone is a game that I have replayed numerous times and is about two years old. I have no social media, and my father says I cannot be trusted enough to get it back. My dad’s girlfriend also told my dad that I was giving her the cold shoulder and giving her dirty looks behind my dad’s back (which I DID NOT do), and I have gotten into even more trouble because of that.

“I’m okay just being her friend, but she’s ignoring me now”

Recently (about two months ago), I started talking to this girl (I am a guy). We had more than a few nice conversations, and everything was going smoothly. She has a boyfriend, which I have no issue with. He’s a nice enough person, and I don’t dislike him at all.

I have developed some feelings for her, but I understand that nothing is going to happen (she’s already in a relationship). As such, I am totally okay with just being her friend.

“How do I show interest without looking desperate?”

I’m in high school, and school just ended. There was this boy in one of my classes who I had always thought was cute. Unfortunately I don’t think very highly of myself (I’m not skinny or very pretty), and so I thought he would never like me. Then we had to do an activity where we write a letter asking for advice, then we had to switch with someone and respond to one another’s questions. He and I ended up switching journals, and when I read his, it was about me! It said that he liked me and wanted to take me on a date.

I didn’t want to overreact in case he didn’t really mean it, and I didn’t want to sound desperate, so I just gave him some basic advice back. Then a few days later, there was an origami heart on my desk in homeroom, with no note. I suspect it was from him, but he never mentioned it in class. Then in class, I was talking to another person and saying how someone called me but didn’t leave a message. Sort of under his breath he said “it was me asking you on that date,” and I was so caught off guard that I didn’t really say anything.

How to Flirt, According to Science

Business Insider is probably the last site you’d think to go to for dating advice (I swear, I read it for the business articles!), but every now and then, they do post little gems of dating and relationship wisdom.

Here’s a short video explaining how to flirt properly, as backed by science. Some of the concepts they go over are, in my opinion, somewhat intuitive if you have any amount of social savvy. But if you’re curious to know what scientific research says about flirting, the video is worth the two minutes out of your life.

If nothing else, don’t you want to know what a “copulatory gaze” entails?
