I have been friends with this guy for about 4 years now…when we first met I was 17 and he was 20. Anyway, when we met four years ago, he really liked me, but at the time I was going through a heartache of another crush, unfortunately.
But with time, we became very close, and we continued to talk despite the long distance. He lived in TX and I in IL. However, I secretly began to develop feelings for him too…I never told him. Eventually, we both just agreed at the time to just be friends, because of the long distance. After that, we slowly lost contact.
Two years ago I saw him again, but he was dating another girl from TX. But we remained very close friends. And I saw him again, a few weeks ago, after two years, and we got together with some of our friends. My best friend told me they had a thing going on. It kinda hurt, and he seemed unsure about her. Anyway, I spoke to him today, and it just so happened we talked about her…and he told me that they are officially dating now.
I feel a little sad, because he is a wonderful guy, and I feel like it is my fault and I lost my opportunity with him. She lives in ND….and they are even more further apart. They just started dating a few days ago. I don’t know what to do…and I was supposed to go visit him in TX next month…but now I don’t even want to go. What should I do?

Don’t go. If he asks tell him you still had feelings for him and he’s dating someone else. Then start looking into online dating maybe.
