“Whenever I’m not with him, our relationship feels like a lie”

I’m a 20 year old female in a relationship. We’ve been together for two months, which seems like a short amount of time, but it feels like forever.

For the first month being together, I would be with him mainly the whole day. He recently got a second job, so we don’t see each other as much anymore. I know that he loves me and whenever we are together I feel it.

It’s something so special, but every time I’m not with him, I feel like it’s all a lie. I don’t know if it’s because I got used to seeing him every day, or if it because I’m so insecure. How do I shake the feeling off and not over-think things?

What are you doing with your spare time? Sounds like you just need something to distract from your mind wandering. Time to volunteer, take a class in something you want to learn, fall into a book… you get the drift.

Sometimes when we spend so much time with someone we tend to get so used them always being around, and when they’re not it feels like something is missing.
A part of us gone. In my opinion I think that you should focus your spare time on yourself. On your interests and goals. Focus on being happy with yourself, if he is busy try to be understanding and supportive. I’m sure he will appreciate you being okay with not being together alllll the time. Remember that you are your own person and so is he.
