“I want to see a therapist”

For the past couple of months I’ve felt like I might have anxiety and/or depression. I really want to get a therapist because I find it easiest venting to strangers. I don’t know how to bring up the issue with my parents. I’m afraid they’ll see it as some type of phase, as I’m only twelve but I just want to look out for myself I guess. Any advice?

    Try speaking to your parents. They maybe more understanding than you think. Depression is definitely something you shouldn’t ignore, because it can spiral out of control. You can try going for a session and seeing if it helps you. If not then you can always stop going. It’s worth a try. All the best! 🙂

    Give it a try. Talking to counsellor/therapist can help you identify/ work through your thoughts, feelings, behaviours etc and help develop some tooos for dealing with/ eliminating what you are experiencing.
