Does anyone have any horror stories from online dating? I’ve had online dates be pretty boring, but thankfully nothing was ever too bad. There must be some interesting stories out there from bad online dates, let’s hear them! Did the guy look totally different from his photo? Did the girl have an incredibly annoying voice that you just couldn’t stand?

[I had one date that was just…odd. For one, he was obviously really insecure about his height. I’m 5’4″, and he was MAYBE 5’6″. To me, that wasn’t a dealbreaker, but I could tell he was uncomfortable with me being almost the same height. He also had an unusally high voice for a grown man, and the most annoying laugh ever. The whole time, I was trying to not to cringe whenever he talked/laughed. It may have been the only time I didn’t want to crack jokes on a date!
[Ha! I’m really lucky, I’ve only met one person online… and it’s my current boyfriend, whom has been with me for 3 1/2 years… and who lives with me!
Although, telling people I met my bf online is still a little uncomfortable for me!
[I had one where I found out the woman was a psychic healer. Her job was to receive calls and help people, that way. She also railed on me about my life. That was… disturbing.
I did have one date where the woman just was TOTALLY cold and distant. I’ve made a LOT of friends dating, and generally consider myself good company. This woman never even gave me that chance.
[Just one date? Or can I bitch about an entire relationship? 😉
[Not my story, but one of my girlfriends went on a date about a year or so ago with a guy who was a tailor. He had a tape measure and wanted to get her measurements so he could make her a dress.
Uh… sure.
[This one’s not mine, but a guy friend who does online dating had this following exchange with a girl who messaged him.
Her: What’s your ideal woman?
Him: Uh… [names some qualities]
Her: Wow, that’s amazing… it’s like you described me exactly! [talk about dating, relationships, etc]
Him: Well, I’m just looking to date casually because I’m moving to the West Coast in about six months.
Her: That’s okay. I’m not really attached to Boston.
Him: …
[Hmmm let’s see…there was the recovering divorcee, who liked to put my hair over his face. There was also the guy who constantly talked in the Cartman from South Park voice. Oh, and the guy who wrote erotic fiction and had just returned from living in Thailand, where he had been “researching” his next book !
